Learn NotebookLM by doing the work.
Pick what you want to get better at. Each mission sends you to a real NotebookLM Guide workflow, gives you a concrete win condition, and remembers what you complete on this device.
Quick answer
Skill Paths turns the guide library into 26 hands-on missions across six ordered tracks — getting started, research, studio outputs, multi-AI, content and test prep. You choose a track, each mission links to the guide that teaches it and states one concrete win condition to finish inside NotebookLM, and the dashboard keeps recommending the next mission. It is free, needs no account, and progress is written only to your own browser.
No account. No leaderboard. No personal profile. Your mission progress is stored only in this browser unless you clear it.

This page needs JavaScript to track missions. With JavaScript off you can still read the paths and open every guide from the Tools hub or the navigation above.
TL;DR — A free mission map for the NotebookLM Guide library, published September 2026. Six paths, 26 missions, each one tied to a specific guide and a win condition you complete in your own notebook. Progress and levels are computed in the browser from completed missions only — there are no points for time spent, no streaks and no leaderboard. Nothing is uploaded, and no account is created.

Complete one mission to start your map.
Step 1 · Choose your goal
Which skill do you want to build?
You can switch paths anytime. Progress is shared across paths, so completing a guide once counts everywhere it appears.
Step 2 · Complete real work
Your missions
0 / 0 complete
Progress without pointless points
Milestones that mean something.
These unlock from completed workflows, not time spent on the page.
How it works
Four steps, and none of them are reading this page.
The map is a scheduler, not a course. Choose a path, open the guide behind the mission, do the stated work in your own notebook, then mark it complete so the next mission moves up. A guide that appears in two paths only has to be done once.
Questions
What people ask before starting
Is NotebookLM Skill Paths free?
Yes. Every path, mission and guide it links to is free to use, with no sign-up and no trial. The page exists to make a large guide library easier to work through, not to gate it.
Do I need an account to track progress?
No. There is no account, no login and no profile. The page marks missions complete using your browser's local storage, so progress appears only on the device and browser you used.
Where is my progress stored?
In this browser only, under a single local-storage key. Nothing is sent to a server, and clearing your browser data or using a different device starts the map over. The reset button removes it immediately.
What counts as completing a mission?
Each mission states a win condition — a concrete piece of work finished inside NotebookLM, such as asking one source-grounded question or rewriting one slide. You decide when you have met it and mark it yourself.
Can I switch paths without losing progress?
Yes. Progress is stored per mission rather than per path, and a guide that appears in more than one path counts everywhere it appears. Switching paths never resets anything.
Why are there no points, streaks or leaderboards?
Because they measure time on page rather than skill. The milestones here unlock only from completed workflows, which is also what makes them worth anything.
What happens when I finish every mission?
The dashboard stops recommending a next mission and points to the premium systems instead, which combine the same workflows into a single operating system you can run end to end.
Sources and freshness
Verified September 11, 2026. Every mission links to a guide published on this site; the mission list is checked against the live route list at build time, so a mission never points at a page that does not exist.
Win conditions are editorial — they describe work you do inside NotebookLM, not a claim about the product. Levels and milestones are computed from completed missions in your browser and are not scores of any kind. Community sources are not used on this page; product behaviour claims belong on the guides the missions link to, where they are dated and cited.
This is an MVP test.
The experiment is intentionally simple: path selection, concrete missions, progress, next-step guidance, and meaningful milestones. We are testing whether this makes a large knowledge site easier to use—not whether users can collect badges.
Your progress never leaves your browser. The optional feedback form only sends what you type into it.
